Railway song of the week
Modeller Ian Kitt contacted us to suggest this week's song. "Stop This Train (Again Doing It')" by Kevin Ayers is a track from his 1969 debut album, Joy of a Toy. The song reflects Ayers' characteristic blend of whimsy and experimentation, featuring playful lyrics and a light, jazzy arrangement. Using the metaphor of a train journey, it explores themes of motion, change, and the inevitability of life's progression, all delivered with a touch of Ayers' distinctive wit. Ayers, a founding member of the influential psychedelic rock band Soft Machine, was known for his baritone voice, eclectic musical style, and witty lyrics. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.
Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. So no excuse not to come and visit us!
