Hello,
We mentioned
Facebook in the past but we never explained what you can find there. On
our Facebook page, you will read articles detailing some
modelling techniques used by Carole on a day to day basis. For instance, if she is weathering a building, she will detail the steps and paints used, with lots of
pictures showing the process. The page also includes (sometimes funny) comments on some items such as the "
dreadlocks trees" as well as examples of modelling from all over the world that we want to share with you. So
if you have not tried it yet, give it a go.
Following last week's newsletter in which we mentioned Cambrian Models, this week we would like to draw your attention to similar kits from
Cooper Craft. The range is not as wide as Cambrian's however they do
include transfers in some of their kits, making them slightly easier to complete. Under the Cooper Craft name you will also find the OO gauge
kits previously released by Slater's, Kirk's and Mailcoach. Here are a few examples:
We have just added a new rotating display with scenic material including
scatter, seafoam, trees, etc... as well as more unusual items like
roads in OO gauge and N gauge. There are more changes coming later this week with another similar display joining the shop floor. Have a spin, next time you are visiting us!
Hornby surprised us yesterday with a large parcel containing
locomotives and wagons as well as a few
Humbrol paints (Humbrol is part of the Hornby group). Hopefully, this is the start of a more regular supply from them. Here are a few examples of what we found when we opened the box.
Finally, I am happy to report we now stock the
catenary masts from Dapol in N gauge. If you have EMU on your layout, you need to have masts around. They are cheap and very detailed as you would expect from the Welsh company.
Send us an email or give us a call to check
availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As
usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will
order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the
manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most
suppliers.
Remember, you can park for free for
one hour on the High Street. And the car park in York Road is still free every Tuesday from 1pm so you can spend the afternoon with us. So no excuse not to come and visit us!
Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
