Hello
Don't forget to read our latest modelling tips located at the bottom of the newsletter.
All of us here at Upstairs Downstairs sincerely hope that you are all keeping well during these difficult times. While we are closed to the public, we are still dispatching and most suppliers are still sending us stock.
It gives us great pleasure to still be able to have contact with you all through our newsletter even if we have to wait a while until we meet again in person.
Until then take great care of yourselves and happy modelling.
Jeff Arnold, based on the Isle of Wight, has sent us some pictures of scratch-built structures he has made. We have put them on our Facebook page. Click on the images below to be taken there and see them in high resolution:
Do you know we have a bargains section on the website? This is where you will find products which we have only limited quantities of (usually only one left) as well as a few high quality second hand items. We add items every few days. The mix is very eclectic and we encourage you to browse the whole category however here are a few to whet your appetite:
For those of you that have been modelling for years, you will appreciate only too well that it is the smaller details that really bring your model railway to life.
If you are modelling in one of the more popular N or 00 gauges, you will have no trouble at all thinking of little extras to place in your scenes as there are plenty of products out there to stir your imagination, from baggage carts, road signs, figures and street furniture to unusual vehicles, line-side equipment and electricity pylons, pretty much if you can get it in real life then it is available in N and 00 gauges.
But what if you are up for the challenge of a more unusual gauge, then there is often not quite the choice or inspiration out there. However, if you dig deep enough you will come across some wonderful items.
Here we show you just a small selection of 0 gauge models that you could use in a station scene to breath life and realism into your layout including station signage, platform tractors, vending and ticket machines, benches, street lamps and a phone box.
You can also access all the articles by visiting this page or simply click the link called "tips" on our website.
Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.
