Scale model exhibition - Modelling WWII trains and planes - Tips on scale modellingHello,

If you are on the Isle of Wight on Saturday 21st of September, you should strongly consider consider to the scale model exhibition held at St John's Church Annexe, on Carter Street (PO36 8EQ). The show will take place from 10am till 3pm and will features exhibits of most types of scale models: planes, boats, model railway, etc. Entry is only a pound and children go free with an adult.

We are commemorating this month the 80th anniversary of WWII which started in September 1939.
 
This is a great theme for a model railway layout with lots of colourful wagons and engines. Here are 3 ready to use items to get you started: a limited edition train pack with an engine and coaches, a train pack with engine and rail gun and finally, the rail gun in camouflage pattern on its own. The Supermarine Spitfire is the emblematic fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force during World War II. And more than eighty years after its first military engagements, it continues to be popular among enthusiasts. These different models kits in 1/48 scale allow you to rediscover several versions of this wonderful aircraft in their smallest details.
 
 
 
 
 
If 1/48 is too, large for you, there are 1/72 models also available. Please note the orange boxes are Profipack versions, which mean they include extra details, more markings an photo-etched parts.
 
 
 
 
 
The war started in Poland and it makes sense to model the Polish conflict. A polish manufacturer called "September 1939" (Wrzesień 1939) has released so far more than 60 kits to help you including some less common items such as the Vickers and FT17 tanks.
