Hello,

Paul Morter is a great modeller based in Shanklin, on the Isle of Wight. He mostly builds coaches from various kits. Click on the pictures below to be taken to the full size ones and a few more photographs of his work:

If you have an interest in modelling, you are probably aware of the TV programme currently on Channel 5 called "The Great Model Railway Challenge". This sees 3 teams of modellers building a layout in 3 days (officially "24 hours").

On the latest episode, you may have noticed the use of smoke generators. They are devices designed to generate smoke without fire. They are safe to use and exist in various sizes and voltages from 4V to about 16V. So they can be fitted in locomotives or ships, or even simulate a working factory or other building. We carry a wide range of them. Here are a few, including some coal scented smoke oil for the extra level of realism!

The Peckett is a tiny saddle tank engine, used in the late 19th century and early 20th century. They are exquisite models from Hornby and will find a space in most layout. We have just received the latest batch but we do not expect them to last long. Grab one while you still can!

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street and for as long as want on the Esplanade. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm and Sunday 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
