Hello,
In case you have missed it, we suggest you head to our Facebook page to see pictures of chocolate and more. Do we need to say more? Chocolate is always a good reason for anything! Here are two pictures to give you an idea as to what to expect.
We have received the March issue of the Railway Magazine Guide to Railway Modelling (still a mouthful). As usual it is free and you can collect it from the shop or order your copy from our website (you pay only for postage). Amongst the articles this week, we highly recommend the two pages on Widnes Model Centre. Yes, we know, we should not promote other shops in our newsletter but they are nice people and they know their subject. If you are ever in Widnes rather than on the Isle of Wight, pay Barry, Gill and Tom a visit. And if you do, ask them to sign your copy of the magazine as a souvenir. While you are at it, ask also for some chocolate. (We expect you to bring the chocolate to us, as a "thank you" for having told you about them).
Other subjects covered in this month's issue:

Weathering is the art of making things look old and used with rusty patches, stains, mud, etc. This usually involves using powders, washes and other paints to create the end result. AK Interactive is a company which specialises in such items and caters for the needs of most modellers: aircrafts, railways, boats, armour... Their range is quite large with single items as well as box sets. The quality is very good with a high level of pigmentation and nice textures, and they are frequently recommended by professional modellers. Here is a selection. Simply click on an image to get the full details:
One of their most exciting product is the metal burnishing fluid: it will react with any metal part (track for instance) and will burnish it, removing all shine.
Vegetation was also something difficult to represent in N gauge, with options restricted to scatter or paint. Now you can get fully detailed cabbages, flowers and other plants, ready to be "planted" (pun intended) on your layout.
Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the supplier has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.
Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street and for as long as want on the Esplanade. So no excuse not to come and visit us!
Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm and Sunday 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
