Hello,

We hope this long weekend has so far proven a great opportunity to do modelling. Feel free to send us your pictures, we love to see what you are making!

A few weeks ago we shares some pictures that Caroline Cleaveley sent us. She has now expanded further a layout and kindly emailed a few more images. Simply click on the picture below to be taken to our Facebook page where you will be able to see them all in full size.

Local bus historian Terry Jones has spend the last 12 months working on the history of Moss Motor Tours of Sandown on the Isle of Wight. The result of his hard work is a great A4 book with about 140 full colour pages. The book spans from the early years in the 1920s till the end of the company and beyond with preserved vehicles. Lots of pictures to reminisce or use as reference material and also comprehensive text for extensive information.

From the same author, we still have a few copies left of his previous book on Shotters of Brighstone.

Talking about coaches, you may have heard of model bus company EFE being acquired by Bachmann a few months ago. We currently have very limited quantities of the OO gauge EFE Southern Vectis buses left and at this moment in time, Bachmann does not plan to do any re-runs so once they are gone, we cannot get more.

Finally, we would like to remind you that maintenance of your engines is critical to their continued performance. Little known but very useful, is the servicing kit from Peco. This contains everything your need to service your rolling stock: a foam cradle to support the engine when upside-down, a wheel brush to clean the wheels, a scraper for stubborn dirt and a bottle of Power Lube. The kit is suitable for OO/HO gauge as well as N gauge and OO9.

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street and for as long as want on the Esplanade. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm and Sunday 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
