Please let us wish you all a Merry Christmas and we hope that with all the joy the day has given you so far, it has also brought you a few modelling projects!
We are open all week as usual including on Christmas Eve. This means you still have plenty of time to get presents if required, to treat yourself or even to get a gift voucher for a loved one.
You can still place orders on our website and send us emails. You can also check our stock on the website and prepare your visit to the shop. Our Facebook page is also ready to provide you with ideas, inspiration and is a great platform to share your projects.
If placing an order on the website, please note we offer free next day delivery for any order over £50 or a small extra shipping charge if under. For delivery before Christmas we strongly recommend you order on Wednesday at the latest however the hard cut off date is Thursday at 12pm as next day delivery excludes Saturday delivery.
The following week we will be open as usual apart from bank holidays. Meaning we will be open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am till 4.30pm. Any order placed on the website between 24th and 27th will be dealt with on the 28th.
We have received numerous deliveries over the last few days, trying to make sure we have everything you will need over the next few
weeks, as next deliveries from most suppliers will be from the 3rd of January. Amongst the
notable things we have received are:
- Some new engines from Hornby: LNER B12, J94, J50, etc.
- More engines from Heljan: Metropolitan Bo-Bos in London transport red preserved "Sarah Siddons".
- And some OO9 engines from Minitrains: 0-6-0 Porter, 0-4-4- Forney, 2-6-2 Baldwin
- Lots (and we mean "lots") of vehicles from Oxford: trucks, cars, Coca Cola lorries, etc...
- We are fully stocked on Cambrian Models wagon kits both in OO gauge and OO9.
- As well as quite a few old favourites: Busch scenic items, Heki hedges, Auhagen embossed plastic sheets and so much more, we do not have the space to list them all!
The above is just a very short sample of everything we have received
lately, there is a lot more in all gauges. Please note some of the new
items are not yet on the website. If you have time to visit us,
you will see we have managed to increase our stock. We still have a few
inches to go before we reach the ceiling though, meaning you can expect
even more from us in 2017!
We also have been expanding over the last few weeks into wargames figures, both historical and fantasy. We already stock the following ranges:
- Perry Miniatures including American Civil War, Napoleonic and a lot more
- Gripping Beast
- Bolt Action from Warlord Games
- Renedra bases as well as their gravestones, tents, barrels, ...
- Mantic: Dreadball, Kings of War, Deadzone, Warpath, Dungeon Saga...
- Armourfast large range of tanks
- And more
A lot more is coming soon, starting with the wargames items being added to the website. We are open to suggestions as to what ranges to stock so answer your needs. We can get more than 15000 items from about 50 different wargames manufacturers so we need your help in choosing!
Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.
Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street and till March for as long as you want on the Esplanade. So no excuse not to come and visit us!
Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
