Hello,

This Saturday, we will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the railway line on the Isle of Wight. There will be events at each station as well as offers to travel on the tube trains, steam trains, buses and vintage buses. In Sandown station, there will be a couple of steam engines, children crafts (railway related) and an exhibition inside the station will a model layout and various original memorabilia pieces (old railway tickets from 1900s, timetables, lanterns and even parts of a signal!). So come to Sandown and celebrate the railway with us!

This week, we are happy to report having received two new releases from Hornby: the long awaited P2 Cock O the North in green livery and the Schools Class "Brighton". If you have ordered one from us, you should have received a call yesterday. If you have not ordered one, please note we have only few left. Contact us if you want one put aside for you.

In the past, we have already mentioned P & D Marsh for the excellent quality of their work. Their latest releases do not disappoint: there is a set of fire buckets in OO gauge (a must have for any Steam layout) and a steam crew and a school party in N gauge. Enough talking, just have a look at the pictures:

We are always on the lookout for innovative scenery products and we seem to have found such a different item: small sheets of grass and vegetation patches. Simply affix them to the layout as they come with a coloured backing paper. Here are two examples:

Finally, we are retailing Auhagen products. We have already received their very nice plastic sheets (a lot easier to use than Wills' but as detailed) and some figures, including a set of 60 unpainted people (crew, passengers, ...). They are good quality and very reasonably priced. Interestingly enough, they come on their sprues, so if you fancy a bit of highlighting or shadowing, this is easily done. We expect more items from Auhagen over the next few weeks.

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. And the car park in York Road is still free every Tuesday from 1pm so you can spend the afternoon with us. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
