Hello,

In modelling there are always people willing to experiment with new techniques and discover new ways of using "old" items. Obviously new technologies and products come everyday as well. This is why even if you have been using an old favourite for years, it pays to read what people say about it, how they use it and how it compares to newest items.

To help you, we have embarked on a long term project to add this knowledge to our website. You will notice gradually more and more content, descriptions, information, how-to's and comparisons on our website.

Here are a few items we have updated with new information over the past few days. They cover maintenance equipment that can be used in any scale. As usual click on the picture for more details.

Whether you plan to touch up an old wagon or scratch-build an engine, paint is always needed. We stock several ranges of paint but the best for rolling stock work is Railmatch. As the name says, they do match perfectly the colours of the real things. They exist in enamel and acrylic versions. We keep the whole ranges in stock however we can only post the acrylic ones due to postal regulations.

The range includes a wide choice of general colours suitable for weathering and building work. Here is a selection of a few colours, in no particular order: concrete, light and dark brick, frame dirt, roof dirt, dark rust. Click on any picture for full details.

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
