Hello,

Following a few hectic weeks, we are happy to say we have now found the time to write those few words.

So what has been happening lately?

First, the shop opening hours are back to the usual, including Sunday opening. So we are open: Tuesday to Saturday from 10am till 4.30pm and Sunday 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Mondays.

Second, we have cleared the dollshouse corner from the shop. Which means we had space to add more items related to trains and modelling.

This lead us to expand dramatically the range of paints we carry by adding the following:

Why these paints? They offer numerous advantages:

You can get more details on our Facebook page including a write-up full of tips by someone who has been using the paints for several years.

The full range is not yet on our website but we hope to put it there as soon as possible. In the meantime contact us directly if you need any information or wish to order some.

Third, we have started stocking AK Interactive products. They are weathering products developed by Mig Jimenez. Exciting stuff includes for example rust effects and streaking effects. Once again, this is shop only at the moment but they will appear on the website very soon.

Fourth, our website has been updated with more products over the last few weeks. You can now browse and order more than 7000 items. Please note, we still have more items to add: at last count we had nearly 11000 different items in the shop...

One of these items is the excellent Woodland Scenics scenery manual that we mentioned in the past but we seem to run out every time we talk about it. At the moment we have a few, so grab them while they are available!

And finally, you are more and more to follow us on Facebook with our resident expert Matt is always happy to inform you of new item, latest announcement from manufacturers, showcase interesting techniques and draw your attention to outstanding layouts like Dawlish. Discussion is always open: is 3D printing the future of modelling?

We want to see your work! Email us your pictures or share them on our Facebook page.

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
