Hello,

A few weeks ago we spoke about tail lamps. Barrie Morgan in Australia got a few from us and has converted them to make them fully lit, using fiber optic and small LEDs. You can read the full details and see pictures of the result on our Facebook page. And while you are there, why not read about the latest announcement from Hornby?

Some people still think of N gauge as a poor cousin to OO gauge. The reality is that over the last few years, the number of items available in N gauge has grown considerably. It is now a safe assumption to think you will be able to model whatever you want in N gauge, provided you are willing to accept a few compromises. Obviously everything described below exists also in OO gauge. Simply contact us for details. Now back to N gauge...

Let us take the example of walls and hedges. A few years ago, you would have to create them out of sponge or card and hope the best. Now beautifully cast resin walling is available in several variations and hedges can be simply affixed to the layout. Here are a few examples. As usual simply click on each picture to get full details.

Vegetation was also something difficult to represent in N gauge, with options restricted to scatter or paint. Now you can get fully detailed cabbages, flowers and other plants, ready to be "planted" (pun intended) on your layout.

And to keep your trains and passengers safe, you need signalling. A wide range of semaphore signals are now available in N gauge, answering most needs. Here are a few examples:

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
