On 14th April 1951, the Southern Railway, the first of the 18 zones of the Indian Railways Network was created, servicing the Regions of Madras, Southern Mahratta and Mysore in Southern India. It was created by merging three previously independent state railways and is still active today.

Bachmann's Ready-to-Place Structures in OO and N Gauge
Are you looking to add some eye-catching buildings to your layout without the hassle of assembly and painting? Look no further than Bachmann and Graham farish's Scenecraft ranges. Let's explore some of their fantastic ready-to-use structures that can bring your miniature world to life.
For those modelling in OO gauge, Bachmann offers some truly unique buildings that can add character to any scene. The Tabernacle, with its distinctive architecture, would make a striking centrepiece in a village setting. If you're recreating a rural scene, the Oast House is a must-have, capturing the essence of the British brewing industry. And for those equine enthusiasts, the Railway Stables provide the perfect backdrop for your model horses and horseboxes.
Want to add some industrial flair to your OO gauge layout? The Steel Frame Crane is perfect for dockside or construction scenes. For a touch of municipal grandeur, consider the Low Relief Municipal Building, which can create an impressive backdrop without taking up too much space. And don't forget the charming details - the Bluebell Waiting Room and Toilet in green and cream adds that quintessential preserved railway feel to your station.
N gauge modellers, fear not! Graham Farish's range has you covered too. The Coaling Tower is a must-have for any steam era depot, while the Sheffield Park Footbridge adds that heritage railway charm. For a more modern touch, the Low Relief Modern Town House provides a contemporary backdrop that's perfect for urban scenes.
Lastly, for those N gauge layouts where space is at a premium, Graham Farish offers some brilliant low relief options. The Low Relief Lyons Corner House brings a slice of vintage high street charm to your scene. The Low Relief Goods Loading Canopy is perfect for creating busy goods yards. And for the centrepiece of your engine facilities, look no further than the Four Road Engine Shed, capable of housing multiple locomotives.
With these structures, you're well on your way to creating a diverse and detailed layout. Remember, the joy is in the details, so don't be afraid to mix and match to create your perfect miniature world.
