We are always on a lookout for new and exciting products that fill a gap. Metcalfe and SuperQuick provide great buildings with outstanding quality but what if you need quite a few buildings to put in the background of your layout? Say you require a row of 15 terraced houses or a few meters of fencing or walling? As this goes right at the back of your layout, you may not need the best quality so a cheaper alternative can be useful.
This is where Smart Models buildings can help. They come as DVD Rom and are meant to be printed from your computer. They are similar to the offering from Scalescenes etc but they come on a physical disk: no messing around with passwords, corrupted downloaded files and loss of documents if you ever change computer.
They are compatible with all types of computers (all versions of Windows, MacOS and Linux) and with all printers. Obviously the better quality your printer is, the better the output. Do not expect miracles on a black and white printer from 1983!
Apart from the usual buildings, discs of textures, fencing and walls are also available. This is useful to modify existing buildings or if you plan do scratchbuilding.
The last thing we have not mentioned: they are available in N gauge and OO gauge. For other scales, please contact us.
Once you have printed pages of buildings and textures, we recommend you use a decent scalpel to cut the card and paper. This will provide neat edges and help you make the most of your kits. Scalpels are cheap and are available in several types with metal or plastic handles) and numerous shapes of blades. There is no right or wrong there: simply use what is needed for the job! Here is a selection from Swann Morton, however we also stock X-Acto.
Finally, we are happy to report we are now able to ship paints, provided they are not sprays. It means you can now order Railmatch (acrylics and enamels), ModelMates and Humbrol paints (acrylics and enamels) directly from our website.

As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.
Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. So no excuse not to come and visit us!
