Hello,

Following what we said last week in this newsletter, we have now received the remaining Wainwright C Class from Bachmann. As stated last week, we have only limited quantities and they have been pre-sold out at Bachmann for several months so when they are gone, we will not be able to get more. Here are a couple of pictures:

Building kits is fun. Scratch-building is even more fun but where do you start? Actually, there is a simple answer to that question: Wills' Craftsman series. They are kits made of raw parts and plans. For instance, you get a few sheets of walls, a couple of roof sheets, some detailing parts (chimney pots, guttering, windows, ...) and instructions on how to put it all together. The end result are magnificent and they are a lot less scary to build than you think!

Once you have built all those great buildings, you need to "plant" them on the layout. It means hiding the joint between the building and the floor, like you would have on a real house for instance. This usually involves plants and greenery. Noch does some great flowers, bushes and small plants which can go a long way to make the scene good looking:

And to make the whole layout even more perfect, what about a nice garage scene complete with a Michelin man, tyres and fuel pumps? The items are available in resin from Harburn Hamlet and we have them in stock:

Finally, because N gauge is important, I saved it for last. Metcalfe has just released a platform canopy. I probably do not need to say more as everyone knows Metcalfe kits.

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. And the car park in York Road is still free every Tuesday from 1pm so you can spend the afternoon with us. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
