Hello,

Information is the root of all good layout or diorama: you need to know what is available in order to use the right items and the best methods. For instance, knowing there is a set of auto mechanics figures or an asymmetric point saves you lots of time when modelling a garage or Ventnor as it was 70 years ago.

To help you, Peco has just released a new version of its catalogue, including all their track, accessories and other items in all gauges, from Z to Gauge 1. They have re-designed the whole thing to make it clearer and easier to use, as well as adding pages of tips on various subjects such as building baseboards, fitting point motors, etc. This is definitely not just a list of products! Listening to feedback, they have also included the whole range from Wills,  Ratio, Model Scene and Tracksetta. This is a great investment that will help you design better layouts. Finally, over the last few days, we have received lots of items from Heljan, Hornby, Bachmann, Oxford to name a few. We have announced them on our Facebook page, as well as the usual modelling tips, layout for inspiration and latest news from the modelling world. We have posted some pictures of Newport in 1970 and 1976, a very nice narrow gauge winter display and some early pictures of the forthcoming LSWR coaches from Hornby.

Do not miss out: visit our Facebook page regularly.

Send us an email or give us a call to check availability or to reserve anything, whatever scale you model in. As usual, if we do not have in stock what you are looking for, we will order it for you and you will get it fast (usually within a week if the manufacturer has it in stock). We place weekly orders with most suppliers.

Remember, you can park for free for one hour on the High Street. So no excuse not to come and visit us!

Upstairs Downstairs is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am till 4.30pm, Sunday from 1pm till 4pm. We are closed only on Monday.
